Saturday March 4th, 2017 Soundwave Brigade headed to Margaret T. Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix to cover the Saturday night lineup at the McDowell Mountain Music Festival a.k.a M3F. For the most part the beginning of our coverage was people watching and it was quite the eclectic and interesting group.
This 100% non-profit festival raises money for both the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and UMOM New Day Care. M3F has donated over $1,000,000 since 2014 and has become a very large and popular festival in the Phoenix Downtown area. So much goes into the planning and it wouldn’t be what it is with all of the volunteers that help make the weekend possible. Dates for next year have been set for March 23-25, 2018.
Soundwave Brigade was there to cover one of the event’s main headliners, Chromeo. Chrome is a Canadian electro-funk duo from Montreal, formed back in 2002 by David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel. Smoke, lights, synthesizers, and a talk box brewed up a great recipe for a great performance. These guys really knew how to get things going and I can say as a first time listener I was really digging the music.
Soundwave Brigade will like to thank the McDowell Mountain Music Festival Media Staff for allowing us to cover a great festival and we cannot wait to hear what next year’s lineup consists of. We would like to also thank those that allowed us to capture their group pictures and if you are reading this article this far don’t forget to follow us on Facebook as well for ticket giveaways and more.
