Luke Bryan “Kill the Lights Tour” at Ak-Chin Pavilion

“Kill the Lights Tour” 2016 came through Phoenix, AZ on Thursday, September 22nd. But in all honesty who wants to kill the lights when you get to see Dustin Lynch, Little Big Town, and Luke Bryan in one venue? Between Dustin Lynch’s great smile, Little Big Town’s energetic ambiance, and Luke Bryan’s grinding moves this was a concert that makes me feel sorry if you missed it.

Dustin Lynch is quite busy and on a roll with just wrapping up his own Hell Of A Night tour and now the Kill the Lights Tour and that’s “Where It’s At (Yep, Yep). He is one to watch for as he climbs his way up to the top of the Billboard charts as he stands now currently at No. 85 on the Hot 100.

Little Big Town came in like a “Tornado” and had a “Girl Crush” feeling spread throughout the venue as they took us out to the “Boondocks” while “Day Drinking” on the “Pontoon”. A little over a year ago according to Wiki on September 9, 2015, the group was nominated for five CMA Awards: Vocal Group of the Year, Album of the Year for Pain Killer, Single of the Year for “Girl Crush”, Music Video of the Year for “Girl Crush” and Musical Event of the Year for their collaboration on the Miranda Lambert single “Smokin’ and Drinkin'”. They tied Eric Church for most nominations that year. Additionally, the songwriters of “Girl Crush” were recognized with a Song of the Year win.

Hip swaying, pelvis thrusting, and overall silliness Luke Bryan had the crowd screaming as he made his way on stage. Bryan released his fifth studio album, Kill the Lights, in August 2015. Although its first single, “Kick the Dust Up,” became a chart-topping party anthem, much of the album showed the him in a quieter, more pensive light. But that pensive attitude could not be seen during his performance in Phoenix, Arizona.

This triple threat combination made for one hell of a night and one for the books. Keep an ear out for new music from all three of these performers and the tour is coming close to an end so if you are in Utah, Las Vegas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, or any of those surrounding cities you may want to think twice before passing the opportunity up.
