Interview with Inner Circle Avenue

Sound OFF! It is your turn to tell the world!

Band: INNER CIRCLE AVENUE
New Single: “Goin’ Nowhere Fast”

Sound Off:

The greatest challenge to date your band has met and conquered was?

Inner Circle Avenue:

Our greatest challenge so far, was the release of our EP, “Greetings from the Inner Circle,” back in 2016. It was a large step forward for the band. None of us had ever been in a studio before so we were learning along the way. We really did not know what to expect. However, we learned a lot through our experiences and we feel much more confident while recording our new full-length album this year.

Prior to an evening’s performance do the band members have a ritual or exercise or something unique they do before hitting the stage?

Inner Circle Avenue:

We don’t really have a “ritual” before any of our performances, aside from just being psyched up right before a show. Sometimes before a performance, we do like to play around with Stephen’s didgeridoo, which is the band’s good luck charm. We take the didgeridoo to every show we play, although we have never actually taken it out for a performance. It is more along the lines of our behind-the-scenes good luck charm.

Sound Off:

The biggest thrill when playing on stage is?

Inner Circle Avenue:

The biggest thrills of performing come from the interactions with the crowd. Whether we are pulling someone up on stage or jumping into the crowd with our wireless systems. The excitement comes from that intimate connection between the band and crowd throughout the performance.

Sound Off:

Does the band have an opening song by another band they like to have played just prior to going on stage? If so, what song is it?

Inner Circle Avenue:

We haven’t ever really jammed to music right before a performance. Instead, we usually are warming up backstage and trying to contain the buildup of excitement right before we go on stage.

Sound Off:

What is the band’s favorite fast food eatery when on the road?

Inner Circle Avenue:

Inner Circle Avenue loves “shaking” things up at Steak ‘n Shake.

Sound Off:

When you want to buy music how do each of you buy it? Download, CD, Vinyl or?

Inner Circle Avenue:

Allison: When purchasing music, I sometimes buy the CD. However, most of the time, I use apps such as Spotify to listen to music.

Stephen: I use Spotify Premium to stream music, however I do purchase a vinyl record on occasion to add to my collection

Eric: I have a collection of classic rock CDs, like old Aerosmith and Journey albums but I usually use Spotify to listen to music.

Logan: I buy/stream most of my music online but I do like buying records occasionally when I really like the band.

Sound Off:

When performing in a several band line-up do you have a particular place in the line-up of 1,2,3, last that you as a band like to perform?

Inner Circle Avenue:

We do not really have a preference of when we play. We just love playing as many different venues as possible to meet and perform for new people! No matter where we are in the line-up, we always aim to put on the most unique, energy driven show that we are capable of.

Sound Off:

If you each could say a few positive words about each other in the band- what words would you choose to describe one another?

Inner Circle Avenue:

Logan is considered the energetic leader. He has the most outgoing personality and when he’s up on stage, he’s able to get the crowd riled up! Stephen is the highly adaptable member when it comes to Inner Circle Avenue as he plays keyboard, guitar, and does backup vocals. Sometimes, he does all three in one song! Allison is the glue that holds the band together. She really knows how to lay down some awesome beats, always adding her own creative flare to whatever she plays! Eric adds a lot to the band’s sound with his bass tones. Our songs wouldn’t be the same without the fullness of the bass lines!
