Blink 182 at Ak-Chin Pavilion

On September 24th, 2016 Soundwave Brigade got the opportunity to photograph the Blink-182 concert at Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ. Last minutes turn of events opened up an opportunity for us to photograph their opening act A Day To Remember as well.

A Day To Remember

A Day To Remember

A Day To Remember is an American Rock band that was founded in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs that was later replaced by Alex Shelnutt in 2006. They are known for their unusual combination of metal core and punk rock and the amazing stage performance by vocalist Jeremy McKinnon stood out the most. He was able to simultaneously interact with the fans and with the photographers that were covering the show. On June 2, 2016, a song titled “Bad Vibrations” was released, alongside a music video. It was also announced that the song would be the title track to their sixth album Bad Vibrations. Their set included songs from that album like “Paranoia” and “Naivery”.

After a long black curtain came down a strike of fire blinded the crowd for a few seconds. Engulfed in flames the work FUCK lit up the back of the stage as Blink-182 started their performance. Twenty four years later and still today their fan base continues to grow even after their long hiatus between 2005 and 2008. The band had this tour planned to fully support its July 2016 release, California album which became the band’s second number-one album on the Billboard 200, and first in 15 years;  it also reached the top for the first time in the United Kingdom.  Its lead single, “Bored to Death“, became the group’s first number one single in 12 years. These guys can really put on a show and this is a concert you don’t want to miss.
